
Lazy summer days and a regular pattern emerge as we hit the mid-summer month of August. The water temperatures have nearly reached their warmest and the fishing pattern will continue to be stable until we turn the corner into autumn.

Diving this summer on Bimini has been absolutely outstanding. At the time of this writing the water temps were hovering around 84 degrees Fahrenheit and the wet suits have long since been stored away until probably November.

August is the perfect time for a dive adventure to any one of the Abaco cays and reefs. Water temperatures are in the low to mid 80’s, so for shallow dives leave the wet suit on shore.

July was a great catching month for big fish! Glass flat seas, calm mornings, overcast skies, low tides and tailing fish all over the place. One morning between 7:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on the Cherokee Flats, we had 11 hookups, and landed 7 to the boat—one eight pounds, two six pounds, and four four-pounders. August will be the same—warm waters and big bonefish.
