
While bottom fishing put live bait out on a balloon with a stinger rig for the smokers. An Eco lure in the glow color is a great spoon to troll for kings. Generally I put out two spoons on down riggers or planers positioning one close to the wheel wash and the other on the fifth or sixth wave.

Lots of Grouper also in between the Snapper bite. The Snapper seem to prefer Spanish Sardines as their choice of bait, while the Grouper like live Pin Fish.

I’ve had one of the best Snapper seasons so far this year. We’ve been catching plenty in as little as 30 feet of water all the way out to “V” tower.

King fish can be hooked very close to shore and many are in the thirty pound size. Slow trolled dusters and stretch baits will quickly find fish and fill up your cooler.

Nice catches of pompano are being bagged all up and down St. George Island. I’ve seen pompano up to six pounds this week. What a great fish.

More and more species will be moving in to take advantage of all of the bait fish. Kings, Amberjack and tarpon off the beach and inshore spots, to the Spanish, Ladyfish, Blues, Trout and Reds in the bays to name a few.

There has been an abundance of slot sized Red fish surrounding the docks and deep holes, and the Speckled Trout are also coming out in good numbers in the grass flats.
